Favorite song to run to?
I have a lot of favorites, but right now I really like Let's Go by Calvin Harris
Run solo or with others?
I run mostly solo or with my husband right now.
How long have you been running & why do you love it?
I fell in love with running in 2006. I've always been an athlete, so at first I loved running because of the awesome workout. It felt good to go out and get sweaty and conquer those miles. I don't run as much now because of an old knee injury catching up to me, but I still love running just as much. It's not about the miles anymore though; I love running for the amazing experiences it brings me, the places I explore and people that I meet.
If you could relive any race you’ve done in the past, which would it be?
I would love to relive running the New York City Half Marathon. It was a great race for me (it's still my PB), but it went by so fast; it all feels like a blur. I would love to do it again and in slow motion, so I could soak up every moment of running through Central Park, Times Square and along the river.
What's your favorite brand of running shoes?
My favorite brand of running shoes is Mizuno and has been for years now. I've worn many different styles and have yet to try a pair that I didn't like.
What are your running essentials?
What’s your favorite thing about Wearsafe?
Having Wearsafe brings me peace of mind knowing that I can go out for a run and I'm not alone. My family and friends are just a press of a button away!
What’s your favorite way to wear your Tag?
I like to wear my Tag on my tank top or sports bra.
What was the best training advice you ever received?
The best advice I ever received was to believe in myself. I was training for my first half marathon and having doubts about being able to run 13.1 miles. Running can be hard. Some days it can feel impossible. I had to learn to dig deep and trust that I could reach my goal.
What advice would you give to new runners, or people just getting back into running?
One tip I would share with a beginner runner would be to join a local running group like She Runs This Town or one at your local running shop. The group will give you a chance to meet people and make new running friends. You will learn everything you need to know about running and training and gear from veteran runners and you'll find support for your best (and worst) runs.
