Favorite song to run to?
Run solo or with others?

I love running with my husband when we can, but mostly I prefer to run solo.

How long have you been running & why do you love it?

3 years. Running allows me to clear my head and focus on my body. No distractions or other influences to worry about, just me and the road. I love pushing my body and seeing what I can accomplish. After a great, hard run I feel accomplished and satisfied.

What was your biggest achievement as a runner? What obstacles did you overcome to get there?
My biggest accomplishment has been just running in general! Growing up I was never a runner. I dreaded the mile run in gym. Teaching myself and training my body to run has been my greatest accomplishment. I struggled through old knee injuries and new running injuries to get where I am today and I continue to work to improve. Another big part of running for me was realizing how much of a mind game it is, especially in a full marathon. I always have to remember "mind over matter". I can do anything my mind believes.
If you could relive any race you’ve done in the past, which would it be?
Wild West Relay in Colorado! This was an amazing experience with old and new friends.
“...From happiness, to focus, to just pure JOY of finishing with a PR! “
Are you training for any upcoming races? If so, which one(s)?
What’s the biggest race on your bucket list?
Favorite way to fuel up: Before, During, & After?
Before a race I eat a bagel or two to fill my stomach. During a race I use Honey Stinger gummies, Nuun fluids and water. After a race I let myself eat whatever I want....usually Mexican food!
What’s your go-to spot for awesome running gear?
Run On! is my favorite local running store. I also love Nike and Asics stores for their great gear selection!
What's your favorite brand of running shoes?
What are a few of your favorite running blogs?
What are your running essentials?
“Morning miles done!”
How has Wearsafe changed your fitness routine?
Wearsafe gives me an extra layer of security. I feel more confident running alone and try a few more new routes than I normally would. My husband also feels better about me running alone when I wear my Wearsafe Tag.
What’s your favorite thing about Wearsafe?

It's so easy to use! I also like that it stays securely hooked on my clothing so I don't worry about it falling off.

“I am SO excited to be part of @wearsafelabs! I often run alone and love a product designed to help keep me safe...“
What’s your favorite way to wear your Tag?

I clip it on the waistband of my shorts.

What are your running goals for 2017?
Improve my half marathon time and strengthen my knee.
Where do you look for fitspiration?
I love Instagram! I follow other runners and learn from them. I also love to read running books and magazines.
What was the best training advice you ever received?

No matter what, just get out there. Even if your run doesn't go as planned or you have to cut it short, just get it done.

What advice would you give to new runners, or people just getting back into running?

Remember that you are running for YOU, not anyone else. I am ok with other people running faster than me, we are still going the same distance. Run to make YOU better!
