April has been a busy month for Wearsafe!
On April 27th, our team “jeaned-up” in honor of Peace Over Violence’s 17th annual Denim Day. For those of you who don’t know about Denim Day, it isn’t just a day to rock your favorite jeans.
Denim Day is a day of sexual violence prevention and awareness, encouraging people to wear jeans as a visible means of protest against the misconceptions that surround rape and sexual assault. Besides wearing our favorite jeans to work, our team came together and raised donations for a local YWCA in New Britain, CT in support of their mission to help educate and raise awareness. Hands up for wearing jeans with a purpose!
From Day of Action to Denim Day, we’d like to give a huge shoutout to everyone who has helped raise awareness throughout Sexual Assault Awareness Month. But as April winds down, it’s important to carry on the mission. Join us as we continue to educate each other about the issue of sexual violence and assist in the prevention of further assaults throughout the year. Together, we can continue to work towards #zeroperhour– lowering the statistics and raising awareness about sexual assault and the impact it has on our communities.
